What You’ll Do

You’ll play a central role in evaluating and moving deals forward—balancing risk, speed, and business opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate small business loan applications, including non-traditional and complex deals
• Analyze financials, credit reports, and supporting documentation to make sound credit decisions
• Assess risk using a combination of data, documentation, and professional judgment
• Verify accuracy and completeness of files in alignment with internal and lender guidelines
• Interpret approvals and manage stipulations to move deals toward funding
• Prepare and finalize documentation required for contracting and funding
• Collaborate with sales teams and external partners to resolve questions and keep deals progressing
• Use third-party tools and online resources to validate business and borrower information
• Maintain clear, consistent communication through email and internal systems

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• Experience making credit decisions or underwriting loans in a financial services environment
• Ability to evaluate risk through financial analysis, documentation review, and judgment
• Experience working with small business or non-traditional lending structures
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously
• Clear and professional communication skills
• Ability to work independently while partnering closely with sales and operations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based research tools

Preferred Qualifications

• 4+ years of underwriting or credit decision experience
• Experience with working capital loans, merchant cash advances, or similar products
• Background collaborating directly with sales teams or external funding partners
• Experience in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment

Work Environment

• On-site role based in our Sioux Falls, SD office
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on business needs
• As the organization grows, shift-based schedules may be introduced (e.g., 7:00–4:00, 8:00–5:00, 9:00–6:00). Any changes would be communicated in advance with consideration for employee impact.
